The week started well for Amersham with a win for the ladies against Wendover 56 – 46. The top rink was Barbara Payne, Jill Rawes and Joy Spicer with a score of 27 – 4.

The following day the mixed match against Fassnidge was rained off after 8 ends with the score at 17 – 42.

The weather was kind to us on Friday for the Ladies Invitation Gala Triples which was a great success. The winners were a team from Bassetsbury Manor.

Saturday’s league match against Chess Vale resulted in a loss for Amersham 85 – 95 (4pts – 8pts). The highest winning rink was Diana Bassett, Jenny Brooks, Ged Putt and Rob Pearson.

Amersham lost again on Sunday against Broomwade 82 – 90; the top rink was Gayle Berrington, Pauline Shepherd and Ged Putt.

Finally, in the Wally Theobald Trophy mixed pairs club competition the winners, after an additional deciding end had to be played, were Robin Eddy and Jill Rawes, and the runners-up Ron Taylor and Wendy Tindale.
