IT was a mixed week of wins and losses for Amersham. They lost 59-41 to Chesham in the Chiltern & Thames League, with the top winning rink of Pauline Pearson, Brian Spicer and Rob Pearson scoring 14-10.

Next evening they won their Three Counties home match against Chalfont St Giles, gaining a maximum 12 points. John Barber, Margaret Sherlock, Beryl Baker and Brian Hone did exceptionally well on their rink with a 37-5 outcome.

The following day Amersham lost in the Bucks Plate to Hazlemere on a cold windy evening, 76-72 home and away, despite winning at home on two rinks.

A 79-41 loss in a friendly against Gerrards Cross was followed by a good win at Loudwater, 89-70, with Brian Haggerstone and his rink of Pam Putman, Pauline Shepherd, Ted Williams scoring 41-26.

The ladies had an overall win of 53-38 against Flackwell Heath with Pat Wright, Margaret Sherlock and Pat Barnard the top winning rink.

In the Vi Trundell competition against Broomwade there was a 21-13 win for the home team of Jill Rawes, Margaret Sherlock, Beryl Baker and Pat Barnard but a 30-14 loss for the away team.
